Why AI in the Classroom Can Be a Catastrophe: Our Reflection

At IBS, we believe that technology should serve educationnot replace its human essence. We recently shared a powerful talk by Sophie Winkleman (ARC 2026) that challenges the unchecked use of screens, EdTech, and AI in classrooms.

IBS core message is clear: Humans don't have to be machines and machines will never be humans.

True learning happens through books, handwriting, critical thinking, Socratic dialogue, sensorial experiences, and real human connection. At IBS International Business School, we embrace AI as a powerful tool in specific tech modules — but we remain a deliberately low-tech business school in everything else.

Our approach: back to books, deep thinking, sustainable STEAM, problem-solving, and the irreplaceable value of human teachers and students. Watch the full talk and join the conversation: What do you think? Share your thoughts.
